Clinical Operations Sr. Data Scientist
Position Summary:
Leads the collection, analysis, and interpretation of complex healthcare data to inform clinical and business decisions at a strategic level. Partnering with cross-functional teams, this role drives data-driven solutions that optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include managing large-scale data extraction and transformation, developing advanced analytics and predictive models, and ensuring the highest standards for data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance. The role also develops advanced analytics with AI, manages data extraction from databases, documents process, and creates training materials.
Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
- Partners cross-functionally to understand business needs and identify solutions.
- Supports new client stand-ups through implementation efforts for payor and clinical data onboarding, ensuring the alignment with healthcare industry standards.
- Perform thorough UI validation and quality assurance of healthcare cost and utilization reports on the client-facing analytics platform.
- Assess and define data needs for product roadmap to support our client facing platform and make it available to our analytic population health clinical solutions.
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and maintaining complex business logic to calculate healthcare cost and utilization metrics based on claims, eligibility, and clinical data.
- Analyze, manipulate and extract data from a variety of relational databases, ensuring accurate and efficient data processing.
- Documenting department onboarding processes and creating training materials.
- Creates and implements complex analytics using artificial intelligence and other techniques.
- Train and mentor junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (healthcare informatics, mathematics, computer science, economics or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant data science or analytics experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare informatics (including EMR/EHR, claims, eligibility and publicly available data such as CMS LDS).
- Strong skills in programming and analytics using the following tools: AWS, R, Excel, SQL & Tableau.
- Solid critical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complicated and technical ideas to any audience.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions, along with a strong working knowledge of the healthcare marketplace and key topics such as risk adjustment, quality measures, healthcare finance, Medicare Advantage, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and Electronic Health Records (EHRs).
Preferred
- Master's degree in analytics, mathematics, health administration or equivalent preferred.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.
The hiring range for this position is:
$113,800.00-$154,525.00
