Job summary

IU Health Bloomington Hospital is seeking an Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations to lead 24/7 clinical staffing and operations, blending clinical expertise with modern leadership to improve outcomes and team engagement.

The role partners with the unit Manager to drive quality, safety, and patient experience, promotes evidence-based practice, and supports nursing practice advancement. BSN and Indiana RN license with BLS are required; additional life support credentials may be required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
BSN required.
Active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
BLS certification via AHA.
Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the unit Manager to develop and implement action plans aimed at quality, safety, and patient experience improvements.
Lead the execution of action plans and evaluate their outcomes and effectiveness.
Foster an environment of team empowerment, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Support the advancement of nursing practice through advocacy for evidence-based and professional standards.
Participate as a key member of the unit leadership team, ensuring smooth operational management around the clock.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professional growth within the team.
