Job summary

University of Chicago, Department of Medicine, seeks a Director of Clinical Research to lead overarching clinical research operations across general research sections. You will report to the Executive Administrator and collaborate with regulatory, finance, and human subjects teams to advance the department's research mission.

You will manage a team of Clinical Research Managers, ensure protocol compliance, monitor budgets, guide staffing, and develop strategic initiatives that improve efficiency

Qualifications

• College or university degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of work experience in a related discipline.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in leadership and supervision.
• Certification in clinical research (SoCRA, ACRP) or Graham School.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations for clinical research across the department.
• Manage a team of Clinical Research Managers for portfolio growth.
• Guide staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with federal and institutional regulations.
