Job description

Principium Psychiatry | Midtown Manhattan, New York City
Full-Time | Office-Based | Monday–Friday
About Principium Psychiatry

Principium Psychiatry is a physician-led mental healthcare company building a more sophisticated model of outpatient psychiatric care.

We treat complex mood and anxiety disorders through an integrated range of services, including medication management, psychotherapy, TMS, SAINT neuromodulation, IV ketamine, Spravato, ECT, and intensive outpatient treatment. Our clinical model combines the depth and rigor of an academic medical center with the responsiveness, ambition, and accountability of a growing private healthcare company.

Principium operates across New York, Connecticut, California, and Florida and is continuing to expand its clinical footprint, treatment capabilities, and operational infrastructure. We work with accomplished psychiatrists, advanced-practice clinicians, therapists, and business professionals who are committed to improving how psychiatric care is delivered.

This is an opportunity to join a company at an important stage of growth. The person in this role will not simply perform administrative tasks. They will help build the operational systems that determine whether patients receive timely, coordinated, and effective care.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Clinical Operations Coordinator to join our growing team in Midtown Manhattan.

This is a high-ownership role at the center of patient care, clinical operations, and business execution. You will work across multiple treatment programs, coordinate with physicians and clinical teams, manage complex patient workflows, and ensure that important cases continue moving until they are fully resolved.

The role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving operational problems, creating order from complexity, and taking responsibility for outcomes. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities matter, details matter, and follow-through matters.

You will have meaningful exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of healthcare operations, interventional psychiatry, insurance processes, patient access, and organizational growth.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate patients through complex clinical and treatment pathways.
  • Support the initiation and continuation of medication management, TMS, ketamine, Spravato, ECT, and other psychiatric services.
  • Manage insurance verification, prior authorizations, clinical documentation, and treatment-readiness requirements.
  • Monitor open cases and maintain clear ownership until each issue is resolved.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, physicians, insurers, and internal teams.
  • Identify delays, barriers, and breakdowns that could interfere with patient care.
  • Escalate urgent or unresolved matters appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, records, task lists, and workflow documentation.
  • Support efforts to re-engage patients who have not initiated treatment or have fallen out of care.
  • Collaborate with clinical and business leaders to improve workflows and patient experience.
  • Participate in operational projects, process improvement, and the development of new systems as the company grows.
  • Cross-train across clinical operations, patient access, revenue-cycle support, and related business functions.
Who Will Thrive in This Role

You may be a strong fit if you are:

  • Highly organized and unusually reliable.
  • Persistent about following through and closing operational loops.
  • Comfortable managing many active cases without losing track of details.
  • Able to communicate confidently with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Calm and resourceful when plans change or problems arise.Interested in understanding how healthcare organizations actually operate.
  • Motivated by responsibility, learning, and visible impact.
  • Excited by the opportunity to grow with an ambitious healthcare company.
Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare operations, patient navigation, care coordination, medical-office operations, surgical coordination, prior authorizations, patient access, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and complete time-sensitive work.
  • Comfort working with electronic health records, spreadsheets, trackers, and operational systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, although meaningful healthcare experience may substitute for a degree.
Why Join Principium
  • Work within one of the most innovative areas of modern mental healthcare.
  • Gain exposure to advanced psychiatric treatments that are not available in most outpatient settings.
  • Work directly with physicians, company leadership, and experienced healthcare operators.
  • Develop broad expertise across clinical care, insurance, patient access, and healthcare operations.
  • Take ownership of work that has an immediate and visible effect on patients.
  • Join a growing company where strong performance can lead to expanded responsibility and career development.
  • Help shape systems and workflows rather than simply inheriting a narrow administrative position.
