West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking a Genetic Counselor to develop and implement specialized clinical genetics within oncology. You will work with cancer care teams to assess risk, provide counseling, and coordinate testing, under supervision of the Executive Director.

The counselor conducts psychosocial assessments, prepares case summaries, and participates in cancer conferences, contributing to NCCN-guideline-based care and cross-continuum pathways.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling.
• Certification by the American Board of Medical Genetics or comparable experience is required.

Responsabilités

• Gather and review medical records, family history to assess risk.
• Provide genetic counseling for patients and families.
• Discuss genetic testing benefits, risks, and implications.
• Coordinate test scheduling and report results to physicians.
• Participate in cancer conferences and assist Cancer Genetics program development.
• Adhere to guidelines from JCAHO, ACS CCC, and NCCN in care pathways.
