Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Medical Office Specialist to provide clinical and medical office support for physicians and surgeons. You will assist in patient care, perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, and document results in the EMR system.

You will schedule appointments, verify insurance, and help with pre-registration while maintaining a safe and compliant environment under RN/LPN/MD supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience as a medical assistant.
• BLS certification (1 year) from AHA or Red Cross.
• Medical Assistant Certification by examination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patient flow in waiting room and assists with registration.
• Takes and monitors vital signs.
• Performs phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Assists with procedures under RN/MD supervision.
• Documents in EMR per hospital policy.
• Schedules appointments and handles pre-registration.
