Job summary

This position, Occupational Therapy Assistant, is located in the Occupational Therapy Unit of the Hawaii State Hospital and is responsible for assisting an Occupational Therapist in the evaluation and treatment of patients referred for occupational therapy and in planning, coordinating, and implementing an ongoing therapeutic occupational therapy program.

The job may require working shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in working with patients in a hospital, facility, or program involving occupational therapy assessment and treatment.
• Knowledge of assessment data collection, reporting baseline data, and applying therapeutic methods.
• Ability to modify standard treatment techniques and equipment for varied patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist an Occupational Therapist in evaluation and treatment of patients referred for occupational therapy.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement an ongoing therapeutic occupational therapy program.
