Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks an experienced Clinical Nutrition Services leader to oversee nutrition care across pediatric services. You will liaise with medical teams and managers to implement standards, lead staff development, and monitor performance.

Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • 5 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting, with minimum of 3 years in pediatric nutrition OR
  • Master’s degree in nutrition plus 3 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation of clinical nutrition care based on medical directions and patient population.
  • Assist with development and management of clinical nutrition goals and ensure standards are implemented.
  • Conduct departmental orientation, training, and competency documentation of staff.
  • Hire, lead, train, evaluate, and coach staff as needed.
  • Monitor competency, productivity, and documentation accuracy of staff using necessary tools.
  • Assist with quality initiatives development, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Develop and revise manuals and policies to meet patient needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate on hospital committees and provide direct patient care as needed.

Job Description

Provides necessary leadership for growth and development of Clinical Nutrition Services. Acts as liaison between clinical nutrition staff and Manager, Clinical Nutrition as well as other medical, clinical, and service-oriented departments.

Experience
  • 5 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting, with minimum of 3 years in pediatric nutrition OR
  • Master’s degree in nutrition plus 3 years of experience as a registered dietitian in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP)
  • Working knowledge of current trends in performance improvement, revenue enhancement, computerization trends, and Joint Commission requirements
  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in nutrition or dietetics
Certification Summary
  • Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Georgia licensed dietitian

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists Manager, Clinical Nutrition in overseeing implementation of clinical nutrition care based upon medical directions and patient population.
  • Assists with development, management, maintenance, and progress of clinical nutrition goals and ensures clinical nutrition standards are implemented in the hospital.
  • Conducts departmental orientation, training, and competency documentation of clinical nutrition staff.
  • Hires, leads, trains, evaluates, and coaches staff as needed.
  • Monitors competency, productivity, and documentation accuracy of clinical staff, utilizing necessary tools and resources.
  • Assists with development, management, monitoring, and reporting of quality initiatives.
  • Assists with development and revision of appropriate manuals and policies and procedures and maintains appropriate clinical functions to meet patient needs and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Participates actively on various hospital committees.
  • Performs related responsibilities and provide direct patient care as a dietitian as needed.
  • Assists supervisor and/or manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
  • Provides supervisor and/or manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
  • Oversees daily operations of the Nutrition Lab and/or dietitian teams.
