Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to act as the liaison between patients and the kitchen, assisting with menu selections and diet orders to ensure accurate meals and dietary compliance. This on-site role supports the clinical nutrition and culinary team while maintaining food safety and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree or some College Nutrition courses preferred.
• ServSafe Certification within six months of hire.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Customize Patient household snack requirements.
• Assist RSU patients with menu selections and enter into the computer.
• Assist RSU and Pantry as needed.
• Provide guidance to RSU Pantry and tray checks.
• During meal service, prepare the pod by plating meals and delivering trays to units.
• Conduct meal rounds and test trays monthly.
• Conduct Environment of Care Rounds weekly.
• Attend Monthly Food Committee Meeting.
• Train Patient Care Associates with culinary requirements.
• Monitor and communicate patient dietary requirements.
• Ensure staff follow hygiene, safety, and food presentation guidelines.
• Pre-meal meetings to brief staff on menu and portions.
• Provide menus and updated copies to patients.
