Job summary

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is seeking a Nutrition Assistant to support all aspects of healthcare food service operations and provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff. You will follow diet manuals and diet spreadsheets to ensure therapeutic meal compliance with prescribed orders.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving food within diet guidelines, monitoring temperatures, preventing cross-contamination, and maintaining proper labeling and storage.

Qualifications

• One year of food service experience required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements using required kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Maintains knowledge of recipe ingredients to respond to food allergy questions or requests.
• Monitors and maintains food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage; avoids cross-contamination and adheres to hygiene requirements.
• Ensures proper meal portioning and an aesthetically pleasing presentation; provides service recovery and escalates to leadership as needed.
• Follows therapeutic diet modifications and allergy restrictions for patient trays.
