Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a Clinical Manager to oversee daily clinical and administrative operations for designated units, ensuring patient care aligns with organizational goals. The role involves staff scheduling, resource allocation, and leadership of float pools within a dynamic Acute Care Transition Team.

You will implement evidence-based interventions, supervise staff performance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient flow, safety, and outcomes across the patient

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure.
• 5 Years of RN Experience with at least 1 year as a charge/lead RN.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit(s).
• Prepare staff schedules and allocate resources to align with goals and vision.

The Clinical Manager oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit(s). The Clinical Manager prepares staff schedules, requests, and allocates resources and ensures that patient care is aligned with the goals, mission, and vision of Tufts Medicine. As a member of this specialized team, you will provide expert inpatient nursing care, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, seamless, and compassionate transitions throughout the patient’s journey. In addition, This Clinical Manager will provide leadership and oversight for the inpatient float pools. Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

• Massachusetts RN Licensure.
• 5 Years of RN Experience with at least 1 year as a charge/lead RN.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses knowledge and expertise to identify potential problems and/or resources for patients and families.
• In collaboration with the director, ensures all staff maintains competency-based practice based upon patient population.
• Participates in nursing research.
• Identifies avenues to pursue own professional growth.
• Keeps current on regulatory issues and trends and employs strategies to meet standards in a proactive manner.
• Supervises staff by evaluating work performance, providing guidance, and timely feedback based on outcome measures.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds to address, patient/family needs, and discharge planning.
• Recognizes, responds, and provides follow‑up on issues, concerns, and suggestions on behalf of the patient population and staff.
• Allocates resources and coordinates services to optimize patient care and services.
• Develops and monitors operating and capital budget; implements strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Performs performance reviews with staff.
• Participates in staff interview process, provides direction and discipline to staff as appropriate, and orients new staff to facility.
• Creates and fosters a learning environment that facilities the professional growth and development of staff.
• Develops and implements processes to enhance operations and practices for ongoing quality improvement.
• Develops, implements, and monitors written policies and procedures.
• Leads and/or participates in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary teams, committees, councils and special projects.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of nursing care in accordance with standards of practice.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and turning patients.
• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
• Exposure to infectious disease and possible carcinogenic chemicals.
• Exposure of blood-borne pathogens.
• Requires fine manual dexterity to lift and maneuver patients.
• Requires visual and aural acuity necessary to monitor patient care.
