Job summary

Texas State University is building a pool of qualified candidates for temporary, nontenured faculty in the St. David's School of Nursing as Affiliate Instructors. This pool supports undergraduate teaching across Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 with appointments based on student demand.

Qualified applicants will hold Texas RN licensure, a BSN, and have relevant clinical teaching experience. Preference for MSN or specialty certification may apply; positions may be full-time or part-time as

Qualifications

• Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited baccalaureate program in nursing.
• Have the clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching (recent graduates must have worked at least one year as a full-time RN under supervision).

Responsibilities

• Supervise student clinical learning experiences in undergraduate programs.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures under qualified supervision.
• Participate in evaluation and mentoring of students based on performance and needs.
