Texas State University invites applications to build a pool of qualified, temporary nontenure line BSN faculty for in-person teaching at the St. David's School of Nursing.

The pool supports Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters, with appointments based on student demand and funding. Applicants must hold a current Texas RN license and a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing (or a nursing-focused pathway with BSN if applying with a non-nursing advanced degree).

Qualifications

• Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a registered nurse in Texas.
• Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in teaching responsibilities.
• Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree, preferably in nursing.
• A nurse faculty member with a non-nursing master’s/doctoral degree must hold a BSN with 12 graduate nursing hours.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses on a temporary basis (1–4 courses per semester).
• Participate in evaluation processes and contribute to departmental needs and program continuity.
