Job summary

WVJC is seeking a Clinical Nursing Faculty member to assist the Nursing Program Director and other faculty in curriculum assessment, planning, and evaluation. The role includes teaching, supervising, and advising students, with lab work conducted in Charleston and Cross-Lanes.

The candidate will contribute to policy development, student progression, and program outcomes, while maintaining professional standards and collaboration with local health care partners.

Qualifications

• Hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing or a bachelor's degree in nursing with enrollment in a graduate program within one year of employment.
• Ten years of direct care nursing for full-time faculty or three years for part-time faculty (if applicable).
• Three years of occupational nursing experience.
• Active RN license without encumbrances per licensing board.
• Evidence of current nursing practice and education competence.

Responsibilities

• Remain familiar with institutional policies and procedures; follow College policies.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and update the Nursing Education Program framework.
• Assist in admissions, progression, retention and graduation policy development; build relationships with hospitals and clinics.
• Be punctual for classes and maintain office hours; serve on Nursing Staff committees.
• Prepare course syllabi, program outlines, articulations and catalog materials.
• Promote student development through enrichment and mentoring.
• Assist students in understanding professional values in health care.
• Provide teaching in didactic, clinical and lab settings as assigned.
• Evaluate student achievement, progression and outcomes across courses.
• Maintain accurate class records and attendance; report to the Nursing Program Director.
