Job summary

WVJC Nursing program in Parkersburg seeks a Nursing Clinical Faculty to assist the Nursing Program Director and faculty in curriculum assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and to develop strategies to teach the curriculum through clinical supervision and advisement.

Clinical duties include direct supervision in clinical and lab settings, observation of student performance, timely feedback, and collaboration with unit managers to align with program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree with a major in nursing, or Bachelor’s degree with nursing major and enrollment in a graduate program within one year.
• 10 years of direct care patient experience for full-time faculty, or 3 years for part-time faculty.
• Three (3) years of occupational experience.
• Holds a current, active RN license or privilege to practice not encumbered.
• Evidence of current nursing practice and education competence or mentoring plan for less experienced faculty.
• Interprofessional teaching experience with non-clinical nursing courses requires advanced preparation.

Responsibilities

• Remain familiar with institutional policies and follow the College Catalog and Faculty Handbook.
• Develop, implement, evaluate and update the Nursing Education Program philosophy and outcomes.
• Assist in development, evaluation, and revision of student policies; promote relationships with hospitals and clinics.
• Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work and keeping office hours.
• Serve on Nursing Staff committees as assigned.
• Prepare course materials including syllabi, program outlines, articulation, and catalog materials.
• Promote student development through enrichment and mentoring experiences.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Program Director.
• Assist students to develop professional values and attitudes.
• Direct, manage, and evaluate student learning in clinical/lab settings.
• Provide timely feedback and collaborate with Clinical Coordinator on site effectiveness.
