Job summary

Richmond Community College is seeking a Nursing Faculty member to lead and support the Associate Degree in Nursing and Practical Nursing programs. The role includes on-site clinical instruction, student mentoring, and collaboration with hospital partners.

The candidate should hold an RN license in NC, with a master’s degree preferred or a bachelor’s with substantial clinical and teaching experience. Expect day/evening/weekend teaching and active involvement in accreditation and program

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing preferred; bachelor’s degree in nursing required; 3–5 years’ full-time RN clinical experience.
• Must hold a current unrestricted RN license in North Carolina.
• Teaching experience in a nursing program preferred.
• Nurse faculty must have prep in teaching/learning for adult education within 3 years; master’s degree required for lead role; ability to integrate computers and online teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster relationships with hospitals and professional organizations.
• Supervise and evaluate student progress; provide guidance.
• Participate in ongoing program assessment and improvements.
• Maintain licensure/certifications and stay current in Nursing and education.
• Provide instruction onsite at healthcare facilities and in classrooms.
• Teach according to College load; day/evening/weekend options; onsite and online as required.
• Create meaningful assessments and evaluations; maintain student records.
• Be available to students during office, clinical or lab hours; provide grade updates via Moodle.
