Clinical Nurse-WoundCare-WOCN-Mount Sinai Hospital-FT/Days

The Nurse Clinician is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expert clinical expertise through advanced knowledge and skills in a specialized area of nursing. The nurse clinician guides and promotes the growth of nursing practice by applying advanced nursing knowledge with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the clinical specialization.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers using personalized teaching and counseling.
• Participate in assessment, implementation, and evaluation of clinical services for a specific patient group, including patient screening, education, discharge planning, follow-up, case management, and research.
• Maintain expertise in the specialty area and serve as a resource and advocate for patients and families.
• Apply theories from nursing and allied fields to patient care situations.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and act as a role model and resource in the specialty area.
• Engage in professional development, research, and committee participation to advance nursing practice and the department’s goals.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Nursing or relevant experience from specialty programs.
• At least 5 years of relevant clinical experience, including leadership or educational roles.
• Current RN license, BLS certification, and additional certifications such as NRP, ACLS, and PALS as applicable.
