Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to advance nursing practice across patients, staff, and systems in a Magnet-designated facility. You will lead clinical practice, education, consultation, and research as a change agent within the Clinical Service Leadership Team.

Under general supervision, you will collaborate with leaders to promote excellence in patient outcomes, staff development, and organizational learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing with clinical focus in area of specialty.
• PhD or DNP in nursing, preferred.
• Two years of concentrated clinical experience in the area of specialty.
• RN license in Michigan; APRN with ANCC certification required.
• CNS certification: acceptable certs include Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, and others.

Responsibilities

• Develops criteria for quality and effectiveness of practice within the spheres of influence: the patient, nursing, and nursing practice, and organization and systems.
• Directly interacts with patients, families, and groups of patients to promote health or well-being and improve quality of life.
• Consults with and advises nurses and other health care team members in care of the complex patient and family by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
• Acts as a resource and role model for collaboration by mentoring nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
