MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse to join our Main Pulmonary Procedures outpatient team. This role offers the opportunity to provide specialized, patient-centered care in one of the nation’s leading cancer centers, supporting patients undergoing complex pulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
As part of a high-functioning interprofessional team, the Clinical Nurse will deliver care that is evidence-based, compassionate, and aligned with our institutional mission of Making Cancer History. This position plays a vital role in ensuring quality outcomes through collaboration, critical thinking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced procedural setting.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will bring experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), procedural areas, or other outpatient settings involving moderate sedation, recovery, and patient flow management. Candidates who thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments and who demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement will excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Delivering high-quality, safe nursing care to patients undergoing pulmonary procedures, including bronchoscopy and other interventional diagnostics.
Monitoring and recovering patients receiving moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols.
Supporting patient and family education, ensuring clarity in post-procedure care and discharge instructions.
Collaborating with providers, respiratory therapists, and other care team members to anticipate and meet patient needs.
Participating in quality improvement efforts and applying new knowledge and evidence-based practices to drive optimal patient outcomes.
Maintaining proficiency in procedural competencies, including EKG interpretation, conscious sedation, and emergency response.

Education
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Experience
Preferred: One year of Clinical Nurse experience in PACU or other Procedural areass.
Certification/Licensure
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200).
