Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to lead nursing teams on a unit during shifts, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with policies and departmental goals.

The CNM collaborates with the management team to monitor care quality, provide coaching, and drive improvements in throughput, staffing, and staff development, supporting a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in nursing management or supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of nursing principles and clinical skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Technical nursing skills relevant to the unit area.

Responsibilities

• Ensures clinical assignments align with patient care needs and staff competencies.
• Assists with admissions and discharges to support throughput and care quality.
• Participates in evaluating quality of patient care with the management team.
• Collaborates with managers to foster teamwork and improve outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and service recovery.
• Coordinates nursing strategies like rounds and bedside shift reports.
• Recommends interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
• Implements actions for training, conflict resolution, and evaluations.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor planning.
• Supports inventory control and supplies management.
• Works with medical staff to coordinate patient care.
• Demonstrates leadership when supervision isn’t present.
• Escalates regulatory issues timely and effectively.
