Job description

The Clinical Nurse Manager serves as a resource and educational consultant to all patient care staff on hospital acquired conditions, quality surveillance, and empirical outcomes related to nursing leadership and clinical nursing practice. Submits to appropriate agencies including CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI). Remains abreast of accreditation and governmental requirements related to hospital acquired conditions, nursing empirical outcomes, and facilitates performance improvement initiatives with clinical staff, as needed.

The Clinical Nurse Manager provides direction and vision for initiatives, exemplifies the Rush Copley mission, vision, and values, and acts in accordance with policies and procedures. This position works closely with all multidisciplinary team members to ensure the highest quality of care, with patient safety as a top priority.

Position Requirements

1. License: Must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of IL.
2. Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher required; graduate degree preferred. Required if hired after 6/2016.
3. Certifications: CPR; National certification within 2 years of hire.
4. Special Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
5. Experience: 3-5 years in an acute care setting with progressive leadership responsibilities. Working knowledge of statistical data collection, interpretation, and display using graphs and charts required.
