Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks an experienced nurse leader to supervise nursing staff, model professional practice, and coordinate patient care across shifts.

The role partners with the Nurse Manager to plan staffing, ensure quality care, meet regulatory standards, and support staff development. Requires 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, CT RN license, and BSN/ADN with BSN pathway.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• One year of charge nurse or equivalent experience preferred.
• Current CT RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
• Certification in specialty area required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as part of the Ed Leadership Team, supervising shifts and mentoring staff.
• Provide real-time accountability and problem-solving as a clinical resource.
• Oversee patient care by collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure quality and efficient resource use.
• Inspires, motivates, and provides regular feedback; conducts annual performance evaluations.
• Assist leadership with staffing, hiring, and adjustments to meet patient care demands.
• Demonstrate clinical competencies to evaluate, plan, and provide patient care as needed.
