Job summary

The University of Utah Health seeks a Registered Nurse to provide clinical support in Juvenile Justice and Youth Services facilities. This nurse-led clinic emphasizes independent practice, teamwork, and high-quality adolescent care in secure environments.

You will assess patients, implement clinical interventions, develop care plans, and collaborate with a wider team to improve youth health outcomes in JJYS custody.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current RN license in Utah or obtain via Interstate Compact within 90 days of hire.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patient health problems through evaluation and interaction.
• Plan and implement interventions and document the nursing process.
• Develop and revise care plans and monitor patient responses to care.
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care and treatments.
• Provide direct patient care following nursing protocols and providers’ orders.
