Job summary

City of Hope in Duarte, CA is seeking a pediatric nurse for Inpatient Pediatrics to advance oncology patient and family care. The role emphasizes nursing process, interdisciplinary planning, and patient education to ensure understanding of the plan and expected outcomes.

The successful candidate will join a mission-driven team, hold a CA RN license, and meet BLS/PALS and chemotherapy/biotherapy certification requirements; shift 7:00am–7:30pm; full-time days; 3–5 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• 3–5 years nursing experience.
• Current CA RN License.
• BLS and PALS through American Heart Association.
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy Certificate (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary care planning and documents according to standards, including validation of patient and caregiver’s understanding of plan of care and outcomes.
• Act as a change agent, committed to lifelong learning and professional development.
• Must be able to work 7:00am - 7:30pm.

Our Inpatient Pediatrics department has an opening for a pediatric nurse who is passionate about improving the lives of oncology patients and their families that are facing complex medical challenges.

• Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
• In alignment with City of Hope mission and values, the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services vision and mission, and with continuous focus on the patient, family and community, carries out the nursing process, coordinates interdisciplinary care planning, documents according to standards, including validation of the patient and caregiver’s understanding of the plan of care and expected outcomes.
