Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medicine Specialty Unit to provide competent clinical nursing care in a 27-bed unit focused on acute pulmonary and infectious disease care.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, participate in education, document effectively, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
• Participates in education programs and interdisciplinary team discussions to evaluate care.
• Ensures safe, effective care planning and discharge planning with active patient/family involvement.

Education

Graduation from a school of professional nursing

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Nursing within seven years of employment
