Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse for Duke Brier Creek Infusion in Raleigh, NC to provide direct and indirect care as part of the healthcare team. You will apply the nursing process, document care, and collaborate with physicians and other staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires BSN or ASN/ diploma, NC RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina; NC licensure within 90 days if holding another compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certification are required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform a 10-hour shift with potential lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Infusion care experience preferred; familiarity with Epic or other computerized charting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit.
• Monitor and maintain the environment of care including equipment and supplies.

• Identify clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and participate in improvement activities.

Job Summary

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE for Duke Brier Creek Infusion located in Raleigh, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in
• accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Use professional nursing judgment to
• individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care.
• Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as team leader or charge nurse for a group
• of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
• Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material
• resources.
• Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs
• and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
• Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and formal learners.
• Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and in
• performance improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Eligibility Requirements

• Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
• Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• BLS and ACLS is required.
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking during 10hr shift with the ability to move or lift at least fifty pounds.
• Previous experience in an infusion care setting preferred
• Experience with Epic preferred or other computerized charting system preferred

Job Schedule

The schedule for this position is weekday 4-10 hour day shifts with 1 Saturday per month.
