Clinical Nurse II – Duke Infusion Cary

Job Location: 100 Duke Health Cary Place, Cary NC, 27519

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II for our Duke Infusion Cary Clinic located in Cary, NC to be an integral part of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care utilizing Maestro Care. Communicate appropriate nursing actions and patient responses to infusion in accordance with physician orders, policies, and therapy plans.
2. Administer infusion medications as ordered by providers or following established protocols, adhering to the six rights of medication administration.
3. Assess patients throughout infusion and post-monitoring for signs of infusion reactions and treat appropriately.
4. Obtain IV access; perform blood draws for labs as needed.
5. Review patient therapy plans weekly for current orders and valid authorizations.
6. Provide patient education as needed.
7. Stock and maintain inventory of patient care supplies.
8. Mix and prepare infusion medications under protocol.
9. Identify performance improvement opportunities and participate in related projects.
10. Perform other duties as delegated by nurse manager, provider, or administrator.
11. Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA standards.
12. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.

Job Eligibility Requirements:

1. Graduation from an accredited BSN, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program. RNs without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within seven years of hire.
2. Minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience.
3. NC RN license required; if licensed in another compact state, NC licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Job Hours:

The schedule is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
