Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Clinical Nurse II for the 4 Neurosciences unit (Geriatric, Crisis Stabilization and Perinatal Psychiatry). The role is full-time with rotating 12-hour shifts and a 36-hour week.

Provides competent nursing care, coordinates with the interdisciplinary team, and focuses on education, discharge planning and performance improvement. Requires NC RN license, BLS, and one year of relevant experience. Orientation is required and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of relevant and current nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families; assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluate care outcomes and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implement care for patients with complex needs and safety considerations.
• Support unit goals and promote professional growth and collaboration.
• Assess discharge needs and plan with patient/family.
• Prioritize tasks for patients with complex conditions.
• Engage in ongoing learning and evidence-based practice.
