Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Clinical Nurse to provide competent nursing care in a Neurosciences unit. You will work 36 hours per week as a full-time onsite employee under the Nurse Manager/Director with state employment benefits.

The role requires a North Carolina RN license, BLS, a BSN or higher within seven years, and at least one year of nursing experience. Salary is hourly with a hiring range based on experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Must obtain a BSN within four years of employment or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Education - identifies and meets learning needs; attends education programs relevant to patient population; assesses readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care - participates in evaluating patient outcomes with the interdisciplinary team; communicates to promote continuity of care.
• Implementation - provides care for patients with complex problems; performs bedside point-of-care testing; follows policies and prioritizes care.
• Leadership - assists in developing unit goals; promotes intra/interdepartmental collaboration; supports safe and cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment - recognizes data to determine care priorities; assesses discharge needs and plans accordingly.
• Planning - collaborates with patient/family to update the plan of care; uses multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - reads journals and discusses applicability with staff.
