Job summary

Duke Cardiology of Cary in Cary, NC seeks a Clinical Nurse II to join the healthcare team providing direct and indirect patient care. The role requires graduation from a BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma and active NC RN licensure.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months of clinical experience and BLS; ACLS within 6 months. Typical hours are day shifts, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays, and opportunities to lead as charge nurse after orientation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN, Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure; BLS required.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire date.
• At least 12 months of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake including vital signs, assessments, and patient education.
• Administer vaccinations/medications per protocol and assist with procedures.
• Document in EHR and NCIR; bill for nursing procedures.
• Act as charge nurse on a shift after orientation; triage calls/EHR messages.
• Perform other duties related to the nursing role.

Clinical Nurse II

Job Location:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications
• Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6- minute walks, orthostatic blood pressures), provide patient/family education, bill for nursing procedures.
• Documentation in electronic health record and NCIR.
• Once oriented to the role: act as charge nurse on a shift by shift basis including providing unit leadership, ability to triage patient phone calls/EHR messages and document appropriately.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Job Eligibility Requirements:

• Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program.
• All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
• Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire date

Job Hours

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
