Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Clinical Nurse II in the Ambulatory Care Unit. The RN will provide and supervise direct and indirect nursing care, following the nursing process, in a fast-paced perioperative environment.

Requirements include 1+ year of clinical nurse experience, a Bachelor's or higher in Nursing (or an ADN/Diploma), NC Board of Nursing licensure, and BLS certification; ICU/PACU/ED experience and IV skills are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years as a clinical nurse preferred; at least 1 year as a registered nurse required for CN2 role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) required; ADN or Diploma also acceptable.
• Nurses without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in BSN within two years and complete within five years.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care using the nursing process.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate care to meet patient goals.
• Provide nursing services to patients and families as defined by the NC Board of Nursing.
• Participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, and research projects.
• Support a very busy perioperative department averaging 40 cases daily.
