Job summary
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Clinical Nurse Educator to shape nursing practice through evidence-based education and professional development.
The role leads educational programs, supports certification, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to elevate patient care, aligning with Magnet standards. Monday–Friday days schedule with generous benefits and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing Education or related field preferred.
- Active DC RN License and BLS required (AHA or ARC).
- 5–7 years pre/postoperative clinical experience preferred.
- CNE certification in Nursing Education within 1 year required.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and role model for experienced and new-to-practice nursing staff.
- Assess learning needs and design, implement, and evaluate education programs and unit-based orientation.
- Support certification and professional development, including specialty fellowship programs.
- Lead and participate in performance improvement, quality initiatives, and nursing research.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary and academic partners to support clinical and educational objectives.
- Promote shared governance through active participation in nursing councils, committees, task forces, and system initiatives.
