The role you’ll contribute:

Provide leadership in staff education development at the unit level, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and aligning with hospital mission, management, and physician expectations. The educator combines clinical expertise with a passion for teaching, mentoring current and future nurses, and strengthening the nursing workforce through role modeling and evidence-based practice leadership.

• Apply principles of adult learning in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs.
• Prepare and maintain accurate, relevant educational materials tailored to the audience.
• Ensure attendance and proper setup when facilitating classes.
• Assist students and practicing nurses in identifying learning needs, strengths, and opportunities, developing targeted learning activities.
• Coordinate orientation programs for new staff and agency personnel.

Qualifications:

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Associate Degree of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing with at least 5 years of inpatient nursing experience.
• Must enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire.
• Current Florida State Board of Nursing registration or licensure from another state with verification and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association.
• PALS/NRP certifications based on unit requirements (must be obtained within 90 days if required).
