Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Clinical Nurse Educator to lead nursing education and promote evidence-based practice. You will shape clinical competency, support certification, and advance professional development within the Division of Nursing.

The role focuses on mentoring staff, designing education programs, and driving quality improvement, with collaboration across academic partners to enhance patient care and practice environments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree in Nursing Education or related field preferred.
• Active DC RN License and BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a mentor, coach, and role model for nursing staff.
• Assess learning needs and design, implement, and evaluate education programs and orientation.
• Support certification and professional development including specialty programs.
• Lead and participate in performance improvement, quality initiatives, and nursing research.
• Collaborate across interdisciplinary and academic partners to support objectives.
• Promote shared governance through nursing councils and committees.
