Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current RN license in Texas or Compact; TX license within 90 days if on a multi-state license.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • 1 year of experience in rehab or skilled nursing setting.
  • Charge experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of care quality in the unit with management.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and managers to improve teamwork and outcomes.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor in line with needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Provide recommendations on interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

What you will do
  • Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
  • Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with management.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Supports a patient‑first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Supports the facility’s efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff; recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively stronger organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications you will need
  • Associate Degree in Nursing is required. BSN preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or a Multi‑State Compact License (employees with RN Compact License must obtain a Texas RN License within 90 days of hire).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • 1 year of experience in a rehab or skilled nursing setting is required.
  • Charge experience highly preferred.
