Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking an OR Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) to lead nursing care in the operating room. The CNC will coordinate functions, supervise staff, ensure compliance, and partner with surgeons and scheduling to optimize patient care and outcomes.

The role requires Colorado RN licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS, with a BSN preferred and OR charge nurse experience. Join our interdisciplinary team and contribute to a culture of excellence in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state RN license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience as an OR RN.
• Previous charge nurse/service coordinator experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in the OR during designated shifts.
• Supervise staff and participate in performance evaluations and coaching.
• Ensure department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate with surgeons and scheduling to streamline OR flow and prepare procedures.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

You Will work u nder the general supervision of the uni t’s director and you will assume responsibility for the direction and the coordinat ion of all functions in the OR Department on your designated shifts. You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessa ry to provide care to patients and to provide direction and supervisions to other staff caring for patients.

Here is some of what you can expect from being a n OR Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) with us:

• As an operating room (OR) Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) you will demonstrate skills as a resource person and liaison between the specialty team members, other staff members, surgeons, and vendors.
• You will assist with the overall management of patient care in the OR, supervises all staff, assists with performance evaluations, counseling and coaching of staff, hiring, and day to day operational supervision.
• You will be responsible for ensuring department compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulatory agencies.
• You will work closely with other Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) to ensure that surgical procedures performed by specialty team members or other surgery staff members are thoroughly prepared prior to surgery.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator verifies the accuracy of preference cards and the OR schedule.
• The Clinical Nurse Coordinator works closely with the surgery schedulers to streamline and verify the flow of the OR schedule.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Tw o (2) years of acute care experience as a n Operating Room (OR) RN.
• P revious charge nurse/service coordinator experience.
