Lee's Summit Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to lead the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU), a 12-bed short-stay unit for observation patients. You will influence patient care through collaboration with the management team and direct staff support to ensure throughput and high-quality care.

The role requires RN licensure, ACLS/BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and the ability to coordinate scheduling, staff development, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN licensed nurse with ACLS/BLS certifications.
• 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical coordination role.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care services.
• Collaborates with managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports nursing strategies (e.g., hourly rounds) to improve engagement.
• Recommends and implements actions for staff training, performance evaluations and policy compliance.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management per productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and supplies/equipment management.
