The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced RN to join our inpatient Psych Unit at Cedar Avenue. The unit provides short-term psychiatric management for patients experiencing acute mental or exacerbated chronic psychiatric disorders, with some patients possibly having secondary addiction diagnoses. The units are locked, 16-bed acute care services admitting adults on voluntary or involuntary commitments, committed to providing treatment in the least restrictive setting possible. The goal is to create a therapeutic environment to restore patients to their optimal community functioning.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care applying nursing process and accepting accountability for assigned patients, ranging from infants to the elderly.
  • Demonstrate safe practice and competence in professional nursing standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care across the continuum, focusing on individualized patient needs.
  • Seek feedback and demonstrate leadership in clinical practice, aligning with organizational mission and standards.
Qualifications
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • More than 15 months of relevant professional nursing experience and completion of Nurse Residency Program preferred.
