Job summary

Tempus in Chicago is seeking a Scientist to support development, optimization and validation of molecular assays for deployment in our high-throughput clinical laboratory.

The role involves hands-on assay development for NGS-based workflows, data analysis, qualification studies, documentation, and collaboration across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree(s) in molecular biology or related field with hands-on lab experience.
• Experience designing and executing assay development and validation studies.
• Strong documentation and collaboration skills in a regulated lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on assay development for molecular and NGS-based workflows in a regulated lab.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments with scientific rigor and detailed records.
• Lead qualification and validation studies for reagents, instruments, and methods.
• Interpret data, troubleshoot, and drive process improvements.
• Support automation and technology initiatives to optimize workflows.
