Description

The physician is responsible for the care of patients in the hospital and clinics, as well as some advocacy and educational initiatives as determined by the Division Chief and/or the Center leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Medical Doctor (M.D.) from an accredited medical school (Required)

Minimum Work Experience: 0 years (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
  • Ability to evaluate patient problems independently and develop care plans.
  • Ability to incorporate ethical concepts into patient care and discuss these with patients, families, and team members.
  • Supervisory and training abilities for clinical professionals and students.
  • Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and staying current in subspecialty developments.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with legal and ethical standards for medical care.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff at Children’s National Medical Center.
  • Board certified or eligible in primary specialty; secondary specialty certification preferred.
