Description

The faculty physician is responsible for the care of patients in the hospital and clinics, as well as research, educational, and advocacy initiatives as determined by the Division Chief and/or the Center leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
Medical Doctor (M.D.) from an accredited medical school (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
  • Ability to evaluate patient problems independently and develop care plans.
  • Ability to discuss ethical concepts with patients, families, and healthcare team.
  • Supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students.
  • Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Commit to Continuing Medical Education and stay current in subspecialty developments.
  • Comply with legal and ethical standards for medical care.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Fully licensed physician on the medical staff of Children’s National Medical Center.
  • Board certified or eligible in primary practice specialty.
  • Board certification in secondary specialty (Preferred).
