Job summary

Marshall Medical Center's Laboratory is seeking a Clinical Microbiologist Scientist to perform high-complexity microbiology testing in a CLIA-certified environment. You will record data, participate in quality control, and help maintain critical lab equipment.

You will also train new staff and students, handle infectious materials safely, and evaluate results to ensure accuracy in patient care. Primarily days, regular per diem position.

Qualifications

• Current State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License required (General Microbiology or CLS).
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high workload environment with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in all areas of microbiology in a CLIA-certified lab for high complexity work.
• Record laboratory test data, patient and quality control information accurately.
• Engage in quality control procedures, reviews, and corrective actions.
• Maintain care of expensive laboratory equipment and judicious use of materials.
• Assist in training new lab personnel, externs, and students; handle infectious materials safely.
