Job description

  • Provide drop-in and scheduled crisis intervention, mental health screening, assessment, counseling, and referrals
  • Provide trauma-recovery counseling and behavioral health case management, including assessment, service linkage, and follow-up
  • Develop evidence-based, time-limited, empowerment-focused individual and group interventions
  • Maintain a concurrent individual therapy caseload of no more than 15 clients
  • Provide clinical consultation and support to Youth Program staff around participants' needs, safety, and intervention strategies
  • Lead behavioral health program development, including outcomes, objectives, service delivery systems, policies, procedures, and forms
  • Track program performance and deliverables and contribute to funder reports, grant proposals, and other program reporting
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, HIPAA compliance, and adherence to contractual and organizational requirements
  • Provide staff training and consultation on trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and behavioral health best practices
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community behavioral health and youth-serving organizations
  • Coordinate services with Youth Program leadership and staff to support participant-centered care
  • Participate in Youth Services management, staff development, training, service coordination, and team culture
  • Support coordination with the Center’s Information and Referral program and other departments
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision
  • Provide backup support to Youth Program staff and perform other duties as needed
Requirements
  • California clinical licensure as an LCSW or LCPC, appropriate to the role and required for clinical note review
  • Experience with Medi-Cal administration, billing, compliance, and documentation requirements
  • Ability to support organizations through Medi-Cal transitions, evolving billing processes, and operational changes
  • Proven ability to maintain high-quality clinical care while supporting staff and leadership in adapting to Medi-Cal policies and requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years providing behavioral health services to LGBTQQ transitional-age youth
  • Minimum of 3 years managing contracts, compliance systems, and annual performance goals
  • Minimum 2 years supervising staff
  • Training and experience in crisis counseling and intervention
  • Experience with evidence-based trauma-recovery approaches, including time-limited, client-empowerment-focused individual and group interventions
  • Minimum of 1 year of case management experience providing community-based behavioral health services to children, families, or youth, including youth involved in the justice system
  • Minimum 1 year of experience serving LGBTQQ youth, including demonstrated experience working with unhoused or marginally housed transitional age youth
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively across agencies and service systems and in a fast-paced, harm-reduction environment
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, and a TB test if offered employment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet-based systems, and networked technology
  • Fluency in English required
  • No car is required
