Job summary

Central Georgia Cancer Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians with procedures in the office, perform phlebotomy, conduct laboratory testing, ensure quality control, and troubleshoot instruments. The role includes documentation, patient preparation, and coordination of outside testing as needed.

Responsibilities also cover specimen handling, chart updates in EMR, and maintaining inventory across multiple clinic locations.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• BLS required.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with ability to perform venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Perform laboratory blood work and phlebotomy.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Document testing results in EMR and patient chart.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures and specimen handling.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as required.
• Maintain inventory and equipment records.
