Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• MA course completion certification preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS.
• 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• PC skills or applicable computer experience.
• Ability to read and write medical terminology accurately.
• Ability to work all shifts.
• Escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in the waiting area and manages flow efficiently.
• Obtains patient history, triage, and records vital signs.
• Explain procedures and prepare patient for examination.
• Prepare instruments and assist provider; sterilize equipment.
• Administer injections and assist with procedures per orders.
• Perform CLIA-waived lab tests and process specimens.
• Assist with x-ray setup when applicable.
• Document services rendered and supplies used.
• Schedule follow-ups and arrange referrals/testing.
