Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant I to join Hawthorn Medical Associates in North Dartmouth, MA. You will support clinicians, take vitals, enter data into EMR, prepare patients, and assist with in-office procedures.

Responsibilities include vaccines, consents, in-office testing, and scheduling. Strong customer service, clear communication, and EMR experience (Athena preferred) are highly valued. This is a day-shift, full-time position based in Hawthorn Medical Associates.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service excellence expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with EMR strongly preferred (Athena preferred but not required).
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completed medical assistant program or equivalent.
• One to three years as a medical assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patient and prepares the patient for provider visit.
• Takes vital signs and records into EMR.
• Assists with in-office procedures and vaccines as ordered.
• Obtains consents and completes forms for visit types.
• Performs in-office testing and EKGs as needed.
• Schedules patient appointments and testing as directed.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows policies.
