Job summary

Sutter Health's PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation ALD is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide back-office and patient-care support, aiding clinicians in implementing the medical plan of care and ensuring smooth workflow within the department.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, CA Medical Assistant training, BLS certification, and about 1 year of relevant experience; proficiency with MS Office and an EHR, plus strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required with CA Medical Assistant training or on-the-job program.
• Completion of CA-approved Medical Assistant education or equivalent Sutter Health program.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform back-office tasks and assist with patient care under clinician supervision.
• Take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and assist with injections.
• Explain procedures and instructions clearly to patients and families.
• Utilize EHR and office software to document visits and coordinate workflow.
• Support efficient departmental operations and maintain patient confidentiality.
