Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must obtain Kaiser Permanente Medication Administration Competency Certification within 90 days of employment as a Medical Assistant.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills (Assessment required for external candidates).
• Demonstrated communication (written and oral) skills.
• Demonstrated literacy in using computers and keyboarding.
• Skills in problem-solving, setting priorities and using good judgment for decisions.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care tasks under clinical supervision and in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Prepares and organizes patient visits with required tests, information and order entries for clinician review.
• Performs diagnostic tests and basic procedures within authorized duties.
• Maintains patient scheduling and handles messages to support efficient patient flow.
• Assists with onboarding and training of new staff and attends annual competency assessments.
• Other duties as assigned consistent with job description.
