Job summary

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of experience or successful completion of Kaiser Permanente externship.
• Waiver for current KP Coalition employees per the National Agreement.
• High School Diploma/GED and Medical Board-compliant Medical Assistant training.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical information.
• Ability to present information verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
• Refer to Position Specifications in the collective bargaining agreement.
• Demonstrated ability to use a personal computer.
• Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs and other pertinent information.
• Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks and completes forms.
• Administers medications, including injections where required.
• Cleans, processes, sterilizes and checks instruments; performs data entry.
• Provides customer service and maintains a clean, functional work environment.
