Job summary

You will prep exam rooms, assist with front desk tasks, collect patient data, manage specimens, and support in-office procedures such as EKGs, labs, and immunizations. The role requires NYS MA program, BLS, and current certifications; strong patient communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NYS accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCCT).
• BCLS training and current certification from American Heart Association in-person classes required.
• Proficiency with care tasks such as phlebotomy and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms for use following protocol including disinfecting and stocking rooms.
• Reviews the next day’s schedule and identifies gaps in care for pre-visit planning.
• Escorts patients and manages patient flow for efficiency.
• Collects and documents patient information, vitals, allergies, and current symptoms.
• Obtains data from tests and reports findings to the provider.
• Confirms written orders prior to delegated tasks.
• Collects and processes laboratory specimens; tracks results in medical records.
• Performs and assists with in-office procedures such as EKG and other testing.
• Supports front office duties: greeting patients and confirming insurance.
• Other duties assigned.
